Met on Great Lawn

This evening the Metropolitan Opera played selections from Saint-Saens’ Samson et Delilah on the Great Lawn. The New York City representative for Parks and Recreation came on stage at the start to annouce "on behalf of New York city Mayor, Mike Bloomberg, I now declare the heatwave over!" It was a bit on the chilly side actually...

Cafe Wha?

I went to the nightclub Cafe Wha? in Soho this evening. Yes, I have lost my mind and am now fully intoxicated as I write (well, I might have only had one drink but the noise more than made up for it!!)

The dancing and waving went on all night long...
Me, James and Greg looking on.

Long Island Sound

Today I went sailing on the Long Island Sound in a boat owned by Rico's cousin Michelle and her husband Charley. Yvette came along for the ride too. The weather was perfect, the air clean and the breeze picked up enough towards the end to take us home without the engine for assistance. It still amazes me how moments of complete tranquility are possible just a matter of miles from (and with a distant view of) the chaos of Manhattan.

Me hanging on for dear life!

Feeling relaxed yet???
