Conan O'Brian

There were only 2 seconds when the camera was on the audience (behind the band) but I wasn't on that side so... for the record, the funniest part was the little improvised bit Conan did to warm up the audience before they started the show.

After seeing the recording I got a strong sense that he's a great comedian who just settled for a large paycheck to do next to nothing, except to ask obvious questions to guests (which the producer of the show feeds him right before the guest comes on air, which Conan writes on that little blue card he holds in his hand) and a few short lines at the start of the show that are placed in front of him on big white cards, held above the camera. Such a waste of talent! Oh well...

Moving!!!!

I'm packing up my suitcase and heading back to Manhattan! 3 months off the island have shown me that it's the place to be. 2 stops on the train from the office, a gym around the corner, a Japanese restaurant right outside the apartment, a walk or short bus ride across Central Park to my Aunt's apartment and countless other features of my new neighbourhood will mean my life is about to get much more interesting. Watch this space more often!!

Happy Birthday Lak!

For the second time in a week there was a birthday party at ECRI! This time Lak celebrated his latest 30-something landmark. He may be nearing 40 but we'll hear about that turning point after the event no doubt!
